Introducing the Future of Dentistry
29.06.2023.
Introducing the Future of Dentistry – a new campaign focusing on the forces at play in the ever-changing world of dentistry and what we can expect to see over the coming weeks, months and years.
Dentistry is at an inflection point: caught between its own rapid technological development, the changing demands of society, and battered by successive waves of once-in-a-lifetime generational challenges from pandemics and global conflicts.
Against this backdrop, change is inevitable – and taking place right before our eyes. But what exactly are the factors influencing the future of the dental profession? And, perhaps more importantly, how much agency does dentistry have in steering these forces?
We’ve identified three areas that are driving the biggest change:
Technological progress (technology)
Societal change (society)
Professional factors (dentistry).
When these come together in the real world, what will the future of dentistry look like?
Adapting and redefining
Join us as we investigate the answers – both those who are playing their part in shaping the future, and those who will be living in it.
From the cost of living crisis and its impact on NHS and private dentistry, to mental health, the GDC and recruitment challenges, no topic is off limits.
Over the coming weeks, we will dive deep into the profession and analyse how a dynamic and increasingly digitalised sector of healthcare is redefining itself in a fast-paced and ever-changing world.
Keep an eye out on Dentistry.co.uk, Dentistry magazine and our social media channels for contributions from all members of the dental team, as well as leading experts and speakers within the profession.
